OIFN Book Club - April 5, 2017 - Guelph

Facilitation Wellington Dufferin is proud to be part of the Ontario Independent Facilitation Network (OIFN), and one of the ways that we contribute to the network is by hosting semi-regular book club meetings.

This casual club offers a chance to come together to share ideas and conversation with people about books that spark our interest.  It doesn't require any long-term commitment, and is open to anyone who would like to attend.

Our chosen book for April is:

Riding the Bus with My Sister by Rachel Simon.

Here is a little bit about the book...

Rachel Simon's sister Beth is a spirited woman who lives intensely and often joyfully. Beth, who has an intellectual disability, spends her days riding the buses in her unnamed Pennsylvania city. The drivers, a lively group, are her mentors; her fellow passengers are her community. One day, Beth asks Rachel to accompany her on the buses for an entire year. This wise, funny, deeply affecting true story is the chronicle of that remarkable time. Rachel, a writer and college teacher whose hyper-busy life camouflaged her emotional isolation, had much to learn in her sister's extraordinary world.

Date: Wednesday April 5, 2017, 12:00pm

Location: Einstein’s Café, 2 Grant Street, Guelph

If you would like to join in the conversation, please RSVP to:
