Parenting Ages and Stages: Parenting can be one of the most rewarding and joyful experiences of our lives, but no one would every say it is easy. As soon as we think we have a handle on how best to support our kids, they change. Infants grow into toddlers, who mature into children, then teenagers and young adults. For many parents, the active responsibilities of parenting continue as their children become adults and as they themselves age, bringing new opportunities, gifts and challenges.
A Family Networking Event: Join together with other local parents of adult sons and daughters who have a developmental disability to share the stories, ideas, hardships and celebrations of parenting through the years. Explore together how parenting change over time, and what it means to be an active and engaged parent as children become adults and begin to direct their own lives.
